Description
URL Manager is a repository for your favorite Internet addresses or URLs (Uniform Resource Locators). URL Manager allows you to organize and collect URLs in a hierarchical structure. Organizing bookmarks between and within folders is easy with Drag & Drop. Drag HyperText links from your Web Browser to the URL Manager window to add a URL to the repository. To access a URL on the Web, Drag & Drop a bookmark to the window of a Web browser or double click. URL Manager is Internet Config savvy.
URL Manager Pro adds tight integration with Navigator, Explorer, Anarchie, Fetch, NetFinder, Claris Emailer and Eudora. With URL Manager Pro you can add bookmark menus to the menubar of these applications. Also, URL Manager Pro adds the URL Manager shared icon menu to the menubar. With this menu you can create bookmarks for Web Pages from --within-- Navigator/Explorer, Add Notes, Grab All URLs on a Web Page or in an E-Mail message, Explore the Internet with a predefined set of Search Engines or start you PPP session with the Open PPP menu command.
URL Manager Pro remembers the last 1000 Web Pages you visited.
URL Manager Pro can validate the URLs of your bookmarks.
URL Manager Pro can find and delete duplicate bookmarks.
URL Manager Pro can store and read bookmark files to FTP servers.

Documentation
Complete documentation of URL Manager Pro is available as a set of HTML pages in this package and on the WWW. To read them off-line: launch your Web Browser and open the file "documentation.html". To read them on-line: choose Online Documentation from the Help Menu (?) in URL Manager or from the shared URL Manager icon menu.
Using URL Manager Pro (Quick Start)
Balloon Help is available.
Use Get From Browser from the File Menu to load your Web Browser bookmarks into URL Manager.
Use Drag & Drop to organize your URLs.
Use Save To Browser to export your bookmarks back to your Web Browser.
Dragging HyperText links from your Web Browser to URL Manager creates bookmarks.
Use Add Web Page to create a bookmark for the current Web Page in your browser.
Use Add As Query to save your queries.
To access a URL on the Web, drag a bookmark to the window of a Web Browser, or use Open in Web Browser on a selected bookmark to send the URL to your Web Browser, or just Double Click the bookmark icon.
Use Open in Helper Application on a selected bookmark to send the URL to your preferred Helper application.
URL Manager also features an Internet Helper Dock which shows, from left to right, all preferred Helper Applications : Web, FTP, E-mail, News, Telnet, Finger and URL Manager.
URLs can be dropped on the icons in the Helper Dock icons and helper applications are launched by double clicking the icons.
Use Internet Config (ftp://ftp.share.com/pub/internet-configuration/) to define the settings for your preferred Helper applications. If you don't have Internet Config installed, the URL Manager will use the following defaults: http: Netscape Navigator, ftp: Anarchie, mailto: Eudora, gopher: TurboGopher, telnet: NCSA Telnet, news: NewsWatcher.
Use Open╔ to open URL Manager documents.
Use Open╔ to open Anarchie and Fetch bookmarks. You can also Drag & Drop Anarchie and Fetch files in an open document window.
Use the Explore menu to search on the Web.
Use Find╔ to find a bookmark or URL.
Change your screen font via Internet Config.
ShortCuts
Double click on a URL icon to open a URL in your favorite helper application.
Use Double click on the name of a bookmark to edit the text.
Use Control-click on a bookmark icon for a Contextual Menu.
Use Return or Enter on a selected bookmark to edit a bookmark.
Click on a selected bookmark to edit a bookmark.
Use Enter or Return to stop editing or click outside of the bookmark.
Use Paste to create a new bookmark from text in the clipboard.
Use Copy to copy a bookmark to HTML format to the clipboard.
Use Clear or press Delete on a selection to delete the selected bookmarks.
Use Option-Return to create a new bookmark.
Use Option-Drag to copy bookmarks within the same window. Use Drag to copy bookmarks between windows.
Use Option-Drag to drag bookmarks in HTML format.
Use Tab or Arrow Right to expand a folder.
Use Tab or Arrow Left to collapse a folder.
Use Arrow Up/Down, Page Up/Down, Home and End to move trough bookmarks.
Enable Balloon Help and move the cursor over the icon which represents that there is a description field. The text in the description field will be shown in the Balloon.

URL Manager Pro is shareware. If you continue using it, please pay the $25 fee.
URL Manager Pro is distributed on the WWW, via the Info-Mac archives and on CD-ROMs. You may distribute the unregistered shareware freely.

How To Pay
URL Manager Pro costs $25 per user.
A Company License (1-8 Users) is available for $99.
Site licenses are also available : a commercial license is $500 and a university or non-profit license is $400.
Use the Register program (see below) to order Company and Site licenses.

The most popular method of payment has become the Online Registration form. You must have a credit card to make use of this service. Just choose Register Online from the Help Menu in URL Manager Pro or from the URL Manager Pro shared icon menu in your Web Browser or type this URL in the location field of your Web Browser:

If you want to pay cash, send $25 (or 50 DM, 150 FF, 15 ú, 35 SF, or 50 FL) in an envelop to Alco Blom. The postal address is given in the section "Contacting the author" below.
If you want to pay by credit card or check, but not want to use the Online Registration form, read the next paragraphs.
Paying for URL Manager is fairly simple. Open the Register program that accompanies URL Manager. Enter your name, your email address, and the number of single user licenses you desire for each program you wish to purchase (or Site or Word-Wide licenses). Save or Copy or Print the data from the Register program and send the data and payment to Kagi Sales. More specifics on the Register program follow.
If paying with Credit Card or First Virtual, you can email or fax the data to Kagi. Their email address is <sales@kagi.com> and their fax number is +1 510 652-6589. You can either Copy the data from Register and paste into the body of an email message or you can Save the data to a file and you can attach that file to an email message. There is no need to compress the data file, it's already pretty small. If you have a fax modem, just Print the data to the Kagi fax number.
Payments sent via email are processed within 3 to 4 days. You will receive an email acknowledgement when it is processed. Payments sent via fax take up to 10 days and if you provide a correct internet email address you will receive an email acknowledgement.
If you are paying with USD Cash or USD Check you should print the data using the Register application and send it to the address shown on the form, which is:

You can pay with a wide variety of cash from different countries but at present if you pay via check, it must be a check drawn in US Dollars. Kagi cannot accept checks in other currencies, the conversion rate for non-USD checks is around USD 15 per check and that is just not practical.
If you have a purchasing department, you can enter all the data into the Register program and then select Invoice as your payment method. Print three copies of the form and send it to your accounts payable people. You might want to highlight the line that mentions that they must include a copy of the form with their payment.
Kagi can not invoice your company, you need to act on my behalf and generate the invoice and handle all the paperwork on your end.
Payments send via postal mail take time to reach Kagi and then up to 10 days for processing. Again, if you include a correct email address, you will hear from Kagi when the form is processed.
Protection URL Manager has a protection scheme and when you pay, we tell you how to indicate to URL Manager that you have paid. If you do not have an email address, please enter your complete postal address and please remember, we do not know what country you live in so please enter that into the postal address also.
